Talcum fine powder

Finely ground talc, grain size 325 mesh. Talc is the softest material on the Mohs scale of hardness.

Talcum powder can be used for various applications:

  • Due to its very low shear strength talcum is widely used as a solid lubricant.
  • Talcum powder is used as filler for resins.
  • Talcum is also a very good absorbing material and useful for removal of oil stains, bad smells, etc.
  • Talcum powder is useful as a release agent in molding using materials such as latex, silicone, rubber.
  • In some sports talcum is used to dry hands (artistic gymnastics, american football).
  • Talcum is very useful as care product for rubber, silicone and latex objects, just place the objects in an air-tight container or bag and add some talcum. It will prevent the objects from sticking together. It is often used in latex gloves.
  • In paint and varnish manufacturing talcum is widely used, as well as in pencil and soap manufacturing.
