Well known and stable acrylic resin. Widely used to impregnate, consolidate, coat and strenghten wood, wall paintings, artwort, archeological artifacts, etc. Useful for sealing wooden and metallic objects.

Paraloid B-72, such as other acrylic resins, shows ecxellent resistance against water, alcalines and acids, oils, fats and chemical vapours. The films are very elastic and adhere very well on various surfaces. It is completely inert against all types of pigments.

Soluble in various solvents such as acetone, ethyl acetate, toluene.

General-purpose, thermoplastic acrylic resin with soft film-forming capabilities, possessing a high tolerance for ethanol and a low reactivity with sensitive phosphorescent and luminescent pigments.

Used in:

• Art conservation and preservation
• Clear coatings for wood
• Applications not tolerant of strong solvents
• Flexographic printing inks
• Gravure plastic coatings
• White and metallic aerosols
• Other film-forming materials, such as vinyls, cellulosics, chlorinated rubbers, and silicones
